The Google consent screen shows a warning
Until the app's Google verification is complete you may see "Google hasn't verified this app". Press Advanced → Go to Neutropic to continue; the requested scopes are access to the files and folders you pick in Google's file picker (drive.file) and your email address only. See the privacy policy for what the data is used for.
Connection succeeded but tools fail
- Open Customize → Connectors → Google Drive and check the status. If it shows an error, press Reconnect.
- Institutional Google accounts may block third-party Drive access — ask your admin to allow the Neutropic app.
- Revoking access in your Google account settings breaks the connection until you reconnect.
The agent says a file is missing
Neutropic only sees the files and folders you have picked in Google's file picker (and files it created). Open the composer's + → Connected apps → Google Drive → Choose from Google Drive…, pick the file or its folder, and ask again.
An approval card appears every time
Every tool starts as Ask each time. In the connector's detail view, set the tools you trust to Always allow, or turn on Skip approval to run all Ask tools without prompting. Blocked tools never run.
"This tool is blocked"
The tool is set to Block in the connector's detail view. Change it to Ask or Always allow.
Research platform tokens (Scopus, Web of Science, KCI, Qualtrics, REDCap, PatentsView)
Token entry (Customize → Credentials) is rolling out. A rejected token usually means it was issued for a different product, or the institution's IP restriction applies — test it in the provider's own console first.
Notion can't find a page
Neutropic only sees the pages (with their sub-pages) and databases you shared on Notion's authorization screen. Open Customize → Connectors → Notion → Change shared pages (or Change shared pages in Notion… at the top of the composer's Notion picker), add the page, and ask again.
Notion tools are missing or marked hidden
- The tool list is read from Notion's server when you connect; if Notion has added or renamed tools, press Refresh tools in the connector's detail view.
- By default only the 9 essential Standard tools plus Neutropic's import/export are visible to the model; the rest show a hidden badge. Turn on Expose all Standard tools if you need one of them.
- Advanced tools (Notion's agent-session, skill and upgrade-prompt tools) are blocked and hidden on purpose.
Zotero key rejected or write tools blocked
- The key is checked against Zotero when you connect. Invalid key means it was mistyped or revoked at zotero.org → Settings → Feeds/API; create a new one and connect again.
- If the key was created without write access, the writing tools (
add_items,save_session_sources,create_collection,add_tags) start Blocked. Create a key that allows write access (and group access if you use group libraries), then reconnect. - An item the agent can't find is usually not synced yet: the connector reads the Zotero web library, so sync your desktop Zotero first.
Disconnecting
Disconnect deletes the stored token. Files already imported into sessions stay.
