What the survey is
Before searching or designing, the skill asks two to four questions that change the result — which databases, what date range, what design constraints, which outcome is primary. They appear as a survey card in the chat with chips to pick from and a free-text field for anything else.
Answer, skip, or pre-empt
- Pick chips for the questions that matter and press Send.
- Skip the rest — search now runs with the defaults for whatever you didn't answer.
- Pre-empt it: if your request already contains the answers ("RCTs only, 2015–2026, PubMed and OpenAlex"), the skill skips the questions it can already answer.
While the survey is waiting, the composer placeholder says so. Typing a normal message instead of answering also cancels the survey and starts the turn with defaults.
Avoid it
Once you know the settings you want, put them in the request itself — the skill only asks what it can't infer. Requests written from the skill guides templates usually run without a survey.
Surveys in other languages
Survey text follows the session language. In Korean, Japanese and Chinese sessions the chips, the skip button and the placeholder are translated.
